Posted on Businessblog™ 396 - July 27, 2004 - 5.38 PM EST Does the SEO industry need SEMPO? Like many SEO's I know, in the last year, there's been an organization that calls itself SEMPO, which stands for the Search Engine Marketing Professional Organisation. SEMPO is supposed to help our industry. How? That, I still don't know. So far I still haven't found how they can help me as an SEO, or any of my clients for that matter. This article, written by Mike Grehan, pretty much tells it all. If all of what Mike says is true, then I'm happy I haven't joined SEMPO last year, when there were a lot of "bells and whistles" around its launching. Nevertheless, some of the principals at SEMPO happen to be people I respect in our industry, such as Fredrick Marckini and Brett Tabke. Still, Mike's article gives food for tought. It will be interesting to see how SEMPO reacts to Mike's article, and what they intend to do to change their current perception in the industry. Posted on Businessblog™
