For many years, the Wayback Machine has been used by many people and for many different reasons, but could this lawsuit change things? Want to see what a Web site looked like a couple of years ago? You can use the wayback machine at www.archive.org and have a glimpse in time. But the Wayback Machine can also used as a legal tool “to turn up old Web pages” that can be used in a legal case. Due to this, one law firm wanted to prevent this from happening and decided to bring in the Wayback Machine into a lawsuit. This lawsuit has an incredible number of implications; to name a few:

Posted on Businessblog™ 935 - July 14, 2005 - 1.19 PM EST Yahoo to translate German search terms to English Today, Yahoo is to launch a new service that takes German search queries and translates them into English and French, and returns results in German from around the globe. Currently, less than 10 percent of all Web pages are in German, so when German speakers search the Internet for information they are missing out on the huge amount of content that may be useful to them but is in a different language, said Eckart Walther, vice president of product management at Yahoo Search. As it is now, Web searchers must know the exact word or phrase in a foreign language to get search results that are applicable beyond what is available in their own language. The beta, or test version, of Yahoo Suche (Search) Translator, available at Yahoo's German search site, will make it possible for people to search knowing only their own language. Gridasov and Computer Services did not respond to the complaint. As a result, the NAF awards Google the legal rights to the domain names. The NAF said that Computer Services is engaging in "typosquatting," taking advantage of a potential typographical error made by Internet users seeking to reach Google's site. "Typosquatting is itself evidence of bad faith registration and use of the disputed domain name," the NAF wrote in its decision.
