Google opens its App Engine to developers

Today, Google is expected to announce that its new App Engine will now be open to developers.

Overall, this would be a welcome development for the approximately 151,500 developers who have been waiting for it for more than 6 months.

Now developers and integrators can start using the platform in their own applications, which will offer more features to their users.

What does Google App Engine offer developers? It allows them to create their own Internet applications using the same platform and feature set that Google uses for its own apps.

With Google's own infrastructure, now developers can start creating highly scalable applications for their open source projects.
